Did you know plastic straws can't be recycled? Americans alone use 500,000,000 plastic straws each day, and so much of that ends up in our oceans! Sea friends get it stuck in their noses, and they often choke on them after mistaking them for food. That's why I am obsessed with GiveASip, an organization trying to change all this!
It's pretty simple- all you have to do is check them out, pledge you are DONE with plastic straws, and they will send you a metal one to use in your home! BUT if you already have plastic straws and need to get rid of them safely for our ocean buddies, make sure you cut them the long way and then chop it up! YOU CAN SAVE A LIFE SO EASILY!
